Addiction Research and Evaluation

Professor Catherine Comiskey is a Professor in Healthcare Modelling and Statistics at Trinity College, Dublin University Ireland. She holds a PhD in biostatistics, biomathematics and epidemiology and has a special interest in addiction research across the life span. She has held a membership of the Scientific Committee of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) since 2014. She was elected as Vice Chair from 2017-2019 and Chair from 2019 to 2024. She is the Irish ministerial appointed, Academic Expert to the National Drug Strategy Implementation Committee. She is the sole author of the book, ‘Addiction Debates’ published in 2020 and author of over 150 international peer reviewed research papers. She has provided consultancy services to the United Nations, International Narcotics Control Board, the EMCDDA and the Pompidou Group in Europe. She also serves as a voluntary board member of the Ana Liffey, Drug Outreach Project, Dublin, Ireland. She is a wife and a mother to four adult children, two dogs and a cat. All of which keeps her research grounded in reality and infused with a passion to make a difference
