Tech (Computer Science) from Birla Institute of Technology Ranchi in 2001 and PhD (Computer Science) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee for his thesis on "A Framework for Network Forensic Analysis" in 2012. He has been awarded the ISEA Fellowship by the Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India, for his research in Information Security.
