This volume comprises the proceedings of the EleventhInternational Conference on the Entity-Relationship Approachheld in Karlsruhe, Germany, October 7-9, 1992. It containsthe full versions of all the 22 accepted papers selectedfrom in total 64 submissions; in addition, the two invitedtalks by Scheer and by Tsichritzis and others arerepresented asfull papers and the two other invitedspeakers contribute extended abstracts. All the contributions describe original research related totheoretical or practical aspects of the Entity-RelationshipApproach,reflecting the trend of recent years in a widerange of database research activities. In particular, thetopics database design aspects, object-orientation,integrity constraints, query languages, knowledge-basedtechniques, and development of new applications areaddressed.
