Beskrivning
What can we learn from stories shaped by omissions, silences and narrative absences? Bringing together innovative perspectives from narratology and literary studies, this volume explores narrative gaps not as mere absences but as powerful aesthetic strategies that shape acts of remembering and storytelling. Rather than inviting readers simply to fill in what is missing, such gaps reveal cultural silences, historical trauma, and lived experience. Through analyses of contemporary (auto)fictional and graphic narratives, the contributors demonstrate how omission generates meaning and challenges interpretation. The volume concludes with a conversation with author, scholar, and translator Shushan Avagyan, further illuminating potential of narrative gaps as aesthetic strategies.
