Julia Velten is an assistant professor of American studies at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany. Besides aging studies, her research focuses on knowledge production in climate change literature and the broader question of the value of art and storytelling in a moment of global poly-crises.Ruth Gehrmann is an asistant professor at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany. She co-leads the project »Best Agers/Best Places: Successful Aging and Spatial Human Differentiation« within the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) »Human Differentiation« at Mainz.Mita Banerjee is professor and chair of American studies at the Obama Institute for Transnational American Studies at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany, and the director of the Gutenberg Research College. She is fascinated with the work that literature can do across disciplines, from medical humanities to legal humanities and the sociology of race.
