Nikolai Gogol''s book "viy" does not need any introduction, because thanks to embarrassing and mysterious mystification and deeply felt national spirit, it has already become the part of the immortal cultural treasury. Having found himself in the house of a witch, a seminarian -philosopher Khoma Brut hardly breaks away from her and tries to forget what happened as a nightmare. Nevertheless, the head of the university orders him to read the prayers for three days at the dead lady''s coffin, who, as a result, appears to be that very witch, to meet with Khoma has supposed not for all the tea in China. Khoma has to hold all that for three nights.
