On Pre-Islamic Poetry

From his earliest childhood until the end of his life, Dr. Taha Hussein''s insatiable thirst for reading and learning persisted, driven by an unquenchable desire for knowledge. He listened intently to carefully selected books read to him, which shaped his artistic and literary taste. Even as his star rose in the world of literature and thought, and despite his demanding cultural responsibilities at the university and the ministry, he never ceased to follow and explore new literary works. In this book, the Dean of Arabic Literature discusses the books that captivated him and occupied his mind, encompassing diverse genres of world literature, philosophical, artistic, and critical issues. He shares with the reader the pleasure that enthralled him and spurred him to discovery and analysis.
