They have been designed to be used by children on their own, no help is required from the adult who can simply observe their child as they enthusiastically discover the world. Learning to recognise, express and manage their own emotions and those of others is vital to a child's development. This box contains three different activities that work on children's emotional spheres: learning about the physical characteristics of facial expressions of the emotions of joy, anger, fear, sadness, surprise, disgust or shame; recognition of their emotional meaning, associating each expression with an emotional experience; identification of the methods that can be used to contain or manage said emotion. The contents also include a poster on which children can write out descriptions of their own emotions. Ages: 5 plus
