Randolph C. Head, Ph.D. (1992), University of Virginia, is Associate Professor of History at the University of California, Riverside. His research on institutional culture in early modern Switzerland includes Early Modern Democracy in the Grisons (1995) and articles in major journals.Daniel Christensen, Ph.D. (2004), University of California, Riverside, is Assistant Professor of History at Biola University. His research interests include the politics of epidemic disease in early modern Germany and the interplay of Christianity and politics in post-Reformation Germany.
