Abdullah Saeed is Sultan of Oman Professor of Arab and Islamic Studies, and Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor at the University of Melbourne, Australia. His research focuses on the negotiation of text and context, ijtihad and interpretation.Nursheila Muez was a Senior Analyst at RSIS, Nanyang Technological University. She is the co-author of Secularism in Singapore: Asatizah’s Perspectives on its Reconcilability with Islam (2020).Luca Farrow is an Associate Research Fellow at RSIS, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He researches religion, law, and extremisms and is co-author of “Protection against Religious Hatred” in Freedom of Religion and Religious Pluralism (Bhuiyan and Zoethout eds.; Brill, 2023).
