Despite guidelines published by the European Society for Human Reproduction, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and many other national bodies, the field of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) remains full of controversy. From its definition, two versus three miscarriages, consecutive versus non-consecutive, there is little consensus between guidelines. RPL is a multi-specialty field encompassing obstetricians, gynaecologists, specialists in ART (assisted reproductive technology), endoscopists, endocrinologists, and rheumatologists.
