Through three generations, in the Al Abdullah family, the novel presents the story of alienation and fragmentation through the struggling father Bassem, who was tempted to leave and left his family and went away, and the son Hassan, who was swallowed by a different, mysterious and sad fate. Laila, the heroine of this novel, goes on paths of defiant resistance to a difficult reality that left women facing their fate alone, beginning with grandmother Souad, her daughter Najwa, and her grandchildren.
