He is the associate editor of the Journal of Geographical Sciences, Journal of Hydrometeorology, and Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews: Water.Quansheng Ge is a professor and the Director of the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS. He is the Secretary-General of the Chinese National Committee for the International Human Dimensions Programme on the Global Environmental Change (CNC-IHDP), the Secretary-General of the Chinese National Committee for the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (CNC-IGBP), the Vice-President of the Cultural Relic Academy China (CRAC), and council member of the Geographical Society of China (GSC), the Chinese Meteorological Society (CMS), and the Beijing Meteorological Society (BMS).
