This book examines the field of surrounding rock control mechanisms and support technologies in underground engineering, and proposes a high-strength support system to address the complex conditions in underground engineering, such as high stress, extremely soft rocks, fault fracture zone and strong mining activity.
Qi Wang’s research focuses on mechanisms of surrounding rock failure, the theory of underground engineering with complex conditions and the other related studies, including confined concrete support and fabricated mechanized construction, high-strength, bolt-grouting support, the measurement and evaluation of the rock mass with drilling. His findings have led to improved safety and advances in underground engineering construction, promoted further development of the support technologies in underground engineering, and provided significant economic and social benefits. The author has published 63 papers as first author or corresponding author. He holds 30 authorized national invention patents and has presided over 11 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Research and Development in Shandong Province, as well as special post-doctoral research in China. He has also supervised more than 16 projects commissioned by large-scale enterprise units andhas been awarded 9 first prizes at provincial and ministerial level.
