This book is on globalization and sustainable growth in China. Motivated by the Chinese experience, we develop an analytical framework in the last chapter to examine the case of growth targeting in China and draw policy implication for LDCs on how to achieve positive and sustainable economic growth.
Yanqing Jiang, PhD is Professor of Economics with School of Economics and Finance at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). Dr. Jiang’s research has a central focus on China’s opening up, growth and development. He started his research in this area in 2004 when he was affiliated to the Hanken School of Economics and the Helsinki Center of Economic Research as a doctoral researcher in Helsinki, Finland. Dr. Jiang’s publications in this area include more than 50 published journal articles (all in English) and 10 published books (all in English) on China’s opening up, growth, and development.Yuwen Dai, PhD CFA is Associate Professor of Economics with School of Economics and Finance at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). Dr. Dai’s research interests are in the fields of macroeconomics and international economics. She received her PhD in Economics degree from the University of York. Prior to joining SISU, she had extensive teaching and research experience in Australia, United States, United Kingdom, and China. She has also worked as a consultant for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Dr. Dai is a CFA charterholder.
