Professionals in psychiatry and psychology work closely with pediatric clinicians in a variety of professional relationships. In this book we provide perspectives in behavioral pediatrics, neuropsychiatric conditions, issues of sexuality and the complex field of eating disorders. In the first section, various neuropsychiatric conditions are considered; after a discussion of concepts of psychosomatic conditions, topics covered are pediatric sleep disorders, tic disorders, enuresis and encopresis. Section two selects aspects of pediatric sexuality with discussions on an overview of child/teen sexuality, child/teen gender identity and sexually transmitted diseases/infections. In section three, the editors provide perspectives on eating disorders: psychiatric perspectives in pediatric obesity, motivational interviewing and childhood obesity, pediatric obesity psychopharmacology, malnutrtion, anorexia nervosa in adolescence, and gynecologic/behavioral features of eating disorders.
