Closer Look at the Child Tax Credit

This book provides an overview of the child tax credit and the newly enacted changes to this program. To analyze the impact of these changes on families’ financial well-being, the book provides estimates of the share of families that receive the child credit both before and after the ARPA expansion, followed by estimates of the ARPA expansion’s impact on average family income.
