Phantoms of War in Contemporary German Literature, Films and Discourse offers an up-to-date and comprehensive analysis of fundamental shifts in German cultural memory. Focusing on the resurgence of family stories in fiction, autobiography and in film, this study challenges the institutional boundaries of Germany's memory culture that have guided and arguably limited German identity debates. The topics dealt with in this book cover a broad range of disciplines, such as agronomy and processing; analysis; chemistry and non-food applications; biochemistry; microbiology and molecular biology; and food and medical applications. Although emphasis is put on inulin and inulin-containing crops, the scope of the book is much wider, encompassing other fructans and fructan-containing plants, and even microorganisms producing and/or degrading fructans. It also deals with the possibiltiy of inulin-containing crops as alternatives in agricultural practice.This volume is recommended to those working in such diverse fields as agronomy and process technology, food science, analytical and organic chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology and molecular biology, and medical sciences, as well as to industries involved in the research and development of carbohydrate-based novel chemicals.

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,0, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Philosophische Fakultät), Veranstaltung: Hauptseminar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit stellt sich folgende Frage: "Kann bei Georg Bendemann von einer gescheiterten Identitätsbildung gesprochen werden?" Georg Bendemann ist der Protagonist in Franz Kafkas Erzählung "Das Urteil", welche 1913 veröffentlicht wurde. Der zentrale Analyseaspekt liegt hierbei im Thema der Identität. Der Schritt ins Erwachsenendasein und die Ausbildung der eigenen Identität ist häufig mit Unsicherheit und Selbstzweifeln verbunden. Die Frage nach der Identität ist eine tiefgreifende Frage im Leben junger Erwachsener und ist dementsprechend auch in der Literatur vielfach behandelt worden. Das Ziel einer Erziehung sollte es sein, das Kind in die Lage zu versetzen, seine eigene Identität zu entwickeln. Identität meint hier u.a., dass das Kind sich von seiner Abhängigkeit zu seinen Eltern löst und beginnt, sich außerhalb seiner Rolle in der Familie zu definieren. Das Kind lernt demnach mit dem Erwachsenwerden sein Selbstwertgefühl unabhängig von der Liebe und Bestätigung seiner Eltern zu entwickeln. Es etabliert sich im Berufsleben und baut sich eine Existenzgrundlage außerhalb des Elternhauses auf.
