Este atlas ilustrado presenta todos los países del continente americano, con información recopilada por dos historiadoras chilenas y complementada por ciudadanos de los distintos países, buscando dar una mirada más completa de la identidad de cada país. Se incorporan aspectos de la geografía física, política y económica y también aspectos de la ecología, las diferentes lenguas, el paisaje, las prácticas y actividades cotidianas, las tradiciones patrias, los personajes de la historia y cultura popular, el patrimonio material e inmaterial, los desafíos medioambientales y sus problemáticas entre otros, ilustrado por Sol Undurraga.

Cristóbal Colón era un navegante deseoso de gloria y aventura. Pensando y mirando sus mapas se convenció de que podía llegar a las ricas tierras de oriente navegando desde España hacia el oeste, para llevar de vuelta oro, especias y piedras preciosas.Christopher Columbus was a sailor in search of glory and adventure. Looking at different maps, he came to the idea that if he sailed from Spain to the East, he could reach the rich lands of Orient, where he would find spices, gold and precious stones. With great determination and courage, he set off for his journey.
