This dissertation will show the real face of several well-known companies that aregenerally well-reputed, although this is definitively not justified in view of theirbackground activities.

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2004 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: A, Oxford Brookes University, language: English, abstract: Many companies fail to deal with their success when growing too fast. The effects ofcorporate growth in general and explosive growth in particular can endanger theexistence of companies that are not prepared for it. This dissertation deals with issues of explosive growth and shows different growthstrategies as well as some issues of change management that need to beconsidered. It is important to manage change successfully as it affects theemployee s performance. Communication and involvement of employees areconsidered to be very important. Furthermore some problems that are directly linked to explosive growth are shown. Problems can occur in terms of recruitment of appropriate staff on time or computersystems that do not grow with the company. Financial problems can occur whenworking capital is poorly managed. In order to answer the question in the research title, secondary and primary researchhave been undertaken. Secondary sources were mainly books but also variousarticles in journals, newspapers and on the internet. Primary research has been undertaken in order to get a better insight into issues ofexplosive growth. The methods used were semi-structured interviews andobservation in four different companies. The findings underline the importance ofchange management as culture changed in all four companies, affecting behaviourand performance of employees. The recommendations at the end of this dissertation reflect the key issues forsuccess that have been identified during this research. These include issues like aprofitable core business and successful growth strategy as well as a clear focusedmanagement. A multigenerational staffing plan that goes with the product plan canhelp to find appropriate staff in time and leasing is an easy way to upgrade the wholecomputer system as soon as it becomes necessary in order to avoid problems.
