Denna avhandling handlar om kollektiva identiteter i interaktion i sociala medier. Det övergripande syftet är att bidra med kunskap om hur kollektiv identitetsformering tar form inom grupper i sociala medier där samhällsfrågor diskuteras. Specifikt har kollektiv identitetsformering studerats med en netnografisk ansats i tre Facebookgrupper med olika inriktningar. Studien tar stöd i sociokulturella perspektiv på lärande och Goffmans dramaturgiska perspektiv på interaktion. Resultatet visar hur interaktionen i Facebookgrupperna möjliggörs och begränsas av såväl plattformens tekniska förutsättningar som de sociala villkor, normer och regler som ramar in dessa praktiker. Med hjälp av en tillämpning av samtalsanalys urskiljs tre typer av interaktion i grupperna, präglade av: motstånd, medhåll respektive nyansering. Utifrån detta resultat presenteras tre kollektiva identiteter vilka tar form i interaktionen: Motståndsidentitet, Gemenskapsidentitet och Förhandlingsidentitet. Utifrån resultatet diskuteras: interaktion i sociala medier och kollektiv identitets-formering som lärande. Detta är en doktorsavhandling i pedagogik vid Stockholms universitet (2023).
