Un recorrido fascinante por las vidas de las monjas del barroco y lo que ocurria tras las puertas de los conventos. Doctoras por la universidad de Brown (EE.UU.), este es el resultado de mas de 15 anos de investigacion y entusiasmo historico por el barroco. Por las creadoras del fenomeno Las Hijas de Felipe, el podcast que esta reescribiendo el Barroco espanol desde las mujeres. Detras de los muros de un convento, reina el silencio, solo salpicado por el murmullo de las oraciones o los melismas de los cantos liturgicos. O asi es como solemos imaginarlo, pero la realidad es otra. En ese espacio gobernado por mujeres, las monjas de los siglos XVI y XVII desarrollaron un complejo entramado social, en el que tenian cabida el trabajo y la creatividad, la moda y la fama, la amistad y el amor, la politica y la economia, y propusieron innovadoras soluciones a los agobios de la vida mundana. Todo ello habria permanecido en secreto para el gran publico de no ser por el exhaustivo trabajo de investigacion y divulgacion que han llevado a cabo, durante mas de diez anos, Carmen Urbita y Ana Garriga, las creadoras del podcast Las hijas de Felipe. Gracias a ellas y a los miles de cartas y tratados que han leido , tenemos acceso a los consejos de Teresa de Avila para el buen gobierno economico, a los trucos de Maria de Jesus de Agreda para estar en varios lugares al mismo tiempo, a la audacia de Ana de Jesus y Beatriz de la Concepcion para sostener un amor contra todo, o a la rabia de sor Juana Ines de la Cruz para librarse, siglos antes del Me Too, del acoso de un confesor. Podemos asomarnos a ese mundo oculto: un espacio creado por mujeres y para mujeres, con otras formas de amar, cuidar, organizarse, crear y convivir. Y, sobre todo, podemos constatar que TODO LO QUE NOS PASA, YA LE PASO A UNA MONJA DEL BARROCO.
