The Media in Britain brings together a range of distinguished and newer scholars to provide a comprehensive and engaging review of contemporary debates in media studies. The first and second parts discuss the principal media industries in Britain before looking at the impact of media policy on their structure and activities. The field of memory studies has typically focused on everyday memory and commemoration practices through which we construct meaning and identities. The Right to Memory looks beyond these everyday practices, focusing instead on how memory relates to human rights and socio-legal constructs in order to legitimize and protect groups and individuals. With case studies including Polish Holocaust Law, the Indian origins of Amartya Sen’s capability theory approach, and the right to memory through digital technologies in Brazilian and British museums, this collected volume seeks to establish the right to memory as a foundational topic in memory studies.

The relationship between storytelling, neurodiversity, and memory remains critically overlooked. While scholarship recognizes the presence of neurodiverse thinking in popular folktales, and access to works by autistic people is growing, the opportunity neurodiverse storytelling offers to reshape communication and remembrance is largely neglected. Autistic Dreaming illuminates how the integration of neurodivergent perspectives can expand ideas of polysensory memory and the connection between human and more-than-human memory. Focusing on autistic activists’ blogs, memoirs, artworks and films, this study spotlights a neuroqueer method of remembering that reforges links between the present and the past, and the individual and collective.
