I mars 2020 kände sig Belle Burden trygg och avlappnad tillsammans med sin familj i deras hus på Martha’s Vineyard, där de navigerade pandemins första dagar tillsammans – tände brasor, drack whisky sour och lagade helstekt kyckling. Plötsligt, utan minsta förvarning eller förklaring, meddelade hennes make sedan tjugo år att han ville lämna henne.
