La vie professionnelle s'est arretee, il doit inventer une seconde vie. Au cours de sa randonnee solitaire qui le conduit de Lille a Strasbourg il va apprendre la subtile alchimie de la marche : se deprendre d'une vie professionnelle suractive, renouer le lien avec la nature automnale, inaugurer une seconde vie. Le parcours sera seme de rencontres inattendues, surprenantes, deconcertantes, enthousiasmantes, elles dessinent en filigrane le portrait de cette France situee aux confins de la Belgique, du Luxembourg et de l'Allemagne, qui conserve les stigmates des naufrages industriels et des conflits passes.Le lent cheminement du marcheur nourrit aussi une experience humaine a la fois tres personnelle et a valeur universelle, elle donne a voir un regard sur soi, la relecture d'une vie, la recherche d'un chemin interieur, et pourquoi pas, l'entree dans une forme de sagesse.Au travers d'un texte initiatique et biographique, l'auteur revele son experience de marcheur et la renaissance qu'il a connue. EXTRAITAujourd'hui, lundi 2 octobre, premier jour de retraite, premier jour sans contrainte professionnelle, premiere page blanche d'une histoire a ecrire. Ce matin, je suis parti de Lille avec un sac a dos de plus de 15 kilos, je commence cette nouvelle etape de vie en marchant en direction de Strasbourg et de mon pays natal. Je marcherai d'ouest en est, du couchant vers le levant, le long de la frontiere belge, luxembourgeoise, allemande, je traverserai deux regions frontalieres, les Hauts-de-France et le Grand Est, marquees par les vicissitudes de l'histoire, les stigmates des revolutions industrielles, les inegalites de developpement des territoires. 26 etapes, trois jours de repos, vingt-sept kilometres par jour en moyenne, au total sept cents kilometres a parcourir dans le vent, la pluie, le soleil, le froid, sur des routes tres frequentees ou desertes, des chemins de paturages sinueux, des sentiers forestiers silencieux, des chemins de traverse boueux, des champs de culture fraichement retournes. Chemin a rebours, paradoxal, tres personnel, vers mes origines, chemin de fuite, chemin de retrouvailles, chemin de deconstruction, chemin de reconstruction. Je marche seul, je veux m'eloigner d'une vie professionnelle devorante, que j'ai pourtant eu tant de mal a quitter, je ne sais pas exactement ce que je cherche. Je ressens le besoin de marcher, est-ce pour conjurer l'angoisse du vide qui me saisit au seuil de cette troisieme phase de la vie, est-ce pour lutter contre le spectre de l'inactivite, de l'immobilite, de l'impuissance, de la mort ? L'idee m'obsede que l'homme qui marche affirme la verticalite de la vie contre l'horizontalite de la mort.A PROPOS DE L'AUTEURBernard Bach est ne en 1954 en Lorraine. Professeur de litterature allemande a l'universite de Lille, il a publie des travaux sur la litterature alsacienne, sur la poesie expressionniste allemande ainsi que sur les reecritures bibliques dans la litterature. Il a par ailleurs developpe la professionnalisation des etudes universitaires, la validation par l'universite des acquis de l'experience, et mis en place une formation a l'interculturalite en licence, master et doctorat.
