This is the story of a most unusual man, Dambom, his yacht "Gossip" and his family who grew to love and crew her from small children and throughout their lives. "Gossip"'s many adventures both home and abroad are recounted here. Sister ship to the celebrated "Firecrest" in which Alain Gerbault made the first single-handed Atlantic crossing from east to west in 1923, "Gossip" was in turn being prepared for the first Route du Rhum race by her new French owner William Borel when final disaster struck, the story of which is included in this edition.
