This collection examines the instrumental role of intersubjectivity in Husserl’s philosophy and explores the potential for developing novel ways of addressing and resolving contemporary philosophical issues on that basis. In Erinnerung an Husserls langjährige Göttinger Lehr- und Forschungstätigkeit veranstaltete die Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen unter der Leitung von Konrad Cramer und Christian Beyer im Husserl-Jubiläumsjahr 2009 ein internationales Symposium, dessen Erträge in diesem Sammelband vorgelegt werden. Die Beiträge sind nach drei Themenbereichen geordnet: (1) Husserls Philosophie der Subjektivität, (2) Husserls Theorie des intentionalen Gegenstandes und seine Bestimmung des Verhältnisses von Wahrheit und Evidenz, (3) Husserls Philosophie der Mathematik und Logik. Ein Schwerpunkt der Analysen liegt dabei auf den Arbeiten aus Husserls Göttinger Zeit.

Was ist der Mensch? Von den zahlreichen Aspekten dieser Frage, denen es nachzugehen lohnt, kommt die begriffliche Aufklärung wesentlicher Züge des menschlichen Daseins aus der ”ich“-Perspektive der eigentümlichen Zielstellung philosophischer Reflexionsbemühungen wohl am nächsten. Die Frage betrifft dann speziell jene Strukturelemente, die für unser vorgängiges Selbst- und Weltverständnis konstitutiv erscheinen — etwa die Idee eines Bewusstseinssubjekts und seiner zeitübergreifenden Identität, einer in der objektiven Welt mit anderen Bewusstseinssubjekten interagierenden Person oder eines moralisch verantwortlichen Akteurs — und die rationalen Beziehungen zwischen diesen Elementen. Der traditionelle Rahmen derartiger Untersuchungen wird in dieser Studie insofern erweitert, als neben philosophischen auch neuere psychologische Debatten einbezogen werden.
