In jüngerer Zeit gewinnt die Frage, wie man Dachmarken stärken kann, in der Praxis zunehmend an Bedeutung. Während bislang der Fokus stärker auf Produkt- und Familienmarken gerichtet war, gewinnen Dachmarken deshalb an Bedeutung, weil viele Menschen wissen wollen, wer hinter Produktmarken steht. Denn Dachmarken bieten die Möglichkeit, neue Produktmarken kostengünstiger und schneller im Markt einzuführen, weil diese von der Kraft der Dachmarke profitieren können. Da Da- marken häufig jedoch nicht aktiv vermarktet werden, leiden diese in der Regel unter Markenschwäche. Insofern stellt sich die berechtigte Frage, wie man Dachmarken durch Kommunikation stärken kann. Eine gute Möglichkeit hierzu bietet Portfolio-Werbung. Herr Brunner untersucht in seiner Arbeit, wie eine starke Dachmarke durch ihr Markenportfolio a- gebaut werden kann und welche gegenteiligen Wirkungen von der Dachmarke und den anderen Produktmarken auf eine einzelne Produktmarke auftreten. In der vorliegenden verhaltenswissenschaftlich-empirischen Studienreihe zur Po- folio-Werbung werden in vier Experimenten und einer Reihe von Vor- und Zusa- studien insgesamt 1.066 Probanden befragt. Folgende zentrale Erkenntnisse werden herausgestellt: Portfolio-Werbung ist im Gegensatz zur Einzelwerbung bei einem hohen wa- genommenen Markenfit sowohl bei fiktiven als auch bei realen schwachen Marken überlegen. Selbst bei starken Marken zeigen sich positive Tendenzen. Die Stärke der Produktmarken interagiert nicht mit dem wahrgenommenen Fit zwischen den Produktmarken, so dass der Fit sowohl bei schwachen als auch bei starken Produktmarken eine zentrale Wirkungsgröße darstellt.
