Tillfälligt slut
There are days when an artist has no ideas left. For Henri Matisse, the great French artist, this is one of those days.Henri is empty. So he puts on his striped shirt and goes walking in his neighborhood. In the streets of Montmartre, he encounters his friend Amadou, whose father is from Senegal and mother is from Morocco. The artist tells Amadou that he is empty of ideas. His friend wants to show him a new sculpture, so Henri invites him to dinner at his home. Next, he meets his friend Tsuguhara and his cat, Leonard. When Tsuguhara hears that Henri is empty, he wants to show him prints from his native Japan, so Henri invites him and Leonard to dinner too. Finally, he sees his friend Sylvie. Hearing that her friend is empty of ideas, she wants to tell him stories of her native Martinique. Henri invites her to dinner with Amadou and Tsuguhara. As Henri buys three aubergines to cook for his friends, his mind and heart fill with the pink of cherry blossoms in Tokyo, the black of sculptures brought all the way from Africa, the blue of the endless waters of Martinique. From then on, his paintings are filled with the stories of his friends. And Henri is full.

In this book, Christopher W. Myers uses Hans Urs von Balthasar’s (1905-1988) concept of theological style to “sketch” the characteristics of foundational theology in distinctly aesthetic terms. Reflecting on Balthasar’s twelve exemplars of theological style, spanning from Irenaeus to Charles Péguy, this book demonstrates how a given theological style results from the confluence of three factors: the glory of divine revelation, the Church’s reception and interpretation of that revelation, and the fruitful expression of that revelation through the particular charism of the theologian. Myers argues that, in expositing these theologians, Balthasar seeks to “sketch” each of them as a means to determine and define their particular theological styles. By aesthetically defining theological style, this book illuminates an under-explored section of Balthasar’s Herrlichkeit, providing a context for reading Balthasar on his own terms and offering a fresh assessment of his strengths and weaknesses as a theologian.

This book discusses the differences between a human weapon system and a tactical athlete and what a human optimization program is. Furthermore, this book discusses and demonstrates how to put together a training program at an organizational level for the human weapon system. A systematic approach is presented and discussed, from initial analysis of the human weapon system to creating a multi-domain human performance optimization program. This book strives to familiarize the reader with the systematic approach that the author has utilized as an exercise physiologist in the Department of Defence over the past ten years. This book also explains how to utilize technology to individualize the human performance optimization program at an organizational level. The book discusses current technologies in power generation, measuring endurance, and nutrition, and also demonstrates to strength coaches and practitioners how to use these technologies and individualize optimization.

This book provides a comprehensive overview of skeletal muscle structure, function, and regulation at the cellular and molecular levels. In addition, the book covers various topics, such as muscle contraction, energy metabolism, fatigue, adaptation, and plasticity. This book discusses skeletal muscle anatomy and histology and then covers muscle contraction's molecular and cellular mechanisms. Also, it includes an in-depth discussion of the sarcomere, the basic unit of muscle contraction, and the role of calcium in the process of muscle contraction. This book also explores the energy metabolism of skeletal muscle, including the role of ATP, glycogen, and fatty acids in providing energy for muscle contraction. Additionally, the book covers the mechanisms of fatigue, including peripheral and central factors contributing to muscle fatigue.Other topics covered include muscle adaptation to exercise, the molecular and cellular mechanisms of muscle hypertrophy and atrophy, andthe influence of age, sex, and disease on skeletal muscle function.Overall, Skeletal Muscle Physiology: An Update to Anatomy and Function thoroughly explores the structure and function of skeletal muscle, making it an essential resource for students and professionals in exercise science, sports medicine, and physiology. The auto-summaries have been generated by a recursive clustering algorithm via the Dimensions Auto-summarizer by Digital Science handled by Subject Matter Experts and the external editor. The editor of this book selected which SN content should be auto-summarized and decided its order of appearance. Please be aware that the auto-summaries consist of original sentences, but are not representative of its original paper, since we do not show the full length of the publication. Please note that only published SN content is represented here, and that machine-generated books are still at an experimental stage.

A central focus of the US Military is the Human Weapon System (HWS) and the optimization of this weapon system. Over the past decade, the Department of Defence has invested in programs termed Human Performance Optimization (HPO) programs.Human performance for the human weapon system is much different than the civilian athlete. Therefore, the human weapon system's rehabilitation and performance training requirements are different and must be considered. This book demonstrates the following to strength coaches and practitioners:Why to view the HWS as a multi-faceted system that requires a more inclusive program than needed by athletes.Provide updated methodology to create a strength and conditioning program specifically for the HWS populations.Introduce and define advanced strength and conditioning methodologies SC professionals use within the US Military and law enforcement performance programs.
