Conducted during the spring of 2004 on the eastern side of the Peruvian Andes, this inventory offers biological and social analyses of the Zona Reservada Megantoni. The participating scientists survey three of the most inaecessible and isolated sites in this rugged territory, examining vascular plants, dung beetles, fishes, reptiles and amphibians, birds, and large mammals. The report also features a brief history of the Megantoni region and its peoples, reviewing more than ten years of collaborative work between scientists and the native communities in the area, including the Machiguenga, Ashaninka, Yine Yami, and Nanti peoples. The report concludes with recommendations for the region's conservation and management, calling for the protection of 216,005 hectares as Santuario Nacional Megantoni. Such a measure would keep intact a corridor between two of the largest protected areas in Peru, the Parque Nacional Manu and the conservation complex in Cordillera Vilcabamba.

In August of 2005, scientists conducted a rapid inventory in Sierra del Divisor, a mountain range that rises dramatically from the lowlands of central Amazonian Peru. This assessment, presented here in English and Spanish, collects their research on the plants and animals of the region as well as the social and cultural assets of local villages and their use and management of natural resources. The report includes recommendations for conservation and management, including steps to safeguard the voluntarily isolated indigenous people living in the region.

The remote, rugged Cabeceras Cofanes-Chingual is one of the last intact mountainous regions in Ecuador and serves as the most important remaining refuge for endangered, range-restricted flora and fauna of the Ecuadorian Andes. In October 2008 scientists from Ecuador, Peru, and the United States conducted a rapid biological inventory and a rapid social inventory to assess the region's suitability for protection as a municipal reserve. Working closely with local communities and indigenous Cofan, whose ancestral territory abuts the proposed reserve to the south, the teams surveyed the hydrology, geology, soils, vegetation and flora, fishes, amphibians and reptiles, birds, mammals, archaeology, and current human communities. Full and abstracted results of the fieldwork are provided in Spanish and English.

In July of 2009 a team of socioeconomic experts from the United States and Peru conducted a social asset inventory of the ancestral territory of the Maijuna indigenous people in northeastern Peru in order to identify patterns of social organization and opportunities for capacity building. Shortly thereafter, another team of scientists conducted a rapid biological inventory of the area. Both arms of the project were intended to assess the region's suitability for protection as a regional conservation area.

In October 2016 a multidisciplinary team of geologists, biologists, social scientists, and local residents explored the rivers, forests, and human communities in and around the La Lindosa, Capricho, and Cerritos outcrops in lowland Amazonian department of Guaviare, Colombia. This report describes the current status of the region’s plant, fish, amphibian, reptile, bird, and mammal communities, as well as the present-day and historical use of its rich natural resources by human communities. At the heart of the report is a series of recommendations for protecting these extraordinary outcrops and the region’s natural resources in partnership with local residents. The text is in Spanish, with an executive summary in English.
