The Book of Isaiah is considered one of the greatest prophetic works in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. The complex history of the book's composition, over several time periods, can often perplex and enthrall. David Willgren sucht in dieser Studie Antworten auf zwei grundsätzliche Fragen, die sich in Bezug auf die Entstehung des 'Buchs' der Psalmen stellen: "Wie?" und "Warum?". Die erste bezieht sich auf das diachrone Wachstum der Sammlung (Wie und auf welcher Basis können diese Prozesse rekonstruiert werden?), während die zweite auf die Frage der Absicht zielt (Zu welchem Zweck werden Psalmen in einer Sammlung nebeneinandergestellt?).Indem er das 'Buch' der Psalmen als Anthologie versteht und dessen Poetik paratextuell untersucht, liefert David Willgren eine Rekonstruktion der Entstehung des 'Buchs' der Psalmen und schließt, im Gegensatz zum kanonischen Ansatz, daraus, dass es nicht vorrangig den literarischen Kontext für einzelne Psalmen bietet. Stattdessen enthält es eine dynamische Auswahl an Psalmen, die am besten nicht als Buch der Psalmen, sondern als Kanon der Psalmen gesehen werden sollte.Diese Arbeit wurde von der Schwedischen Akademie der Wissenschaften als verdienstvolle wissenschaftliche Arbeit mit einem Preisgeld in Höhe von SEK 50.000 geehrt.

In der Psalmenforschung hat in den letzten Jahrzehnten überkonfessionell und international eine Neuorientierung stattgefunden: Psalmenexegese wird ergänzt durch Psalterexegese. Dabei wird der Zusammenhang von Intertextualität und der Entstehung des Psalters hervorgehoben, aber auch das Verhältnis des masoretischen Textes zu den Psalmen in Qumran und in der Septuaginta kritisch in den Blick genommen.Der vorliegende Band enthält die überarbeiteten Beiträge einer internationalen Konferenz, die im April 2018 an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München stattfand. Alle Aufsätze bieten Einblicke in aktuelle Fragen nach der Komposition und Intention des Psalters. Neben grundlegenden methodischen Reflexionen präsentiert der Band neue theologiegeschichtliche Perspektiven zur Erhellung der Entstehung des Psalters.

Der vorliegende Band versammelt Beiträge über Sünde, Leid und das Böse, wie diese Themen in der Hebräischen Bibel behandelt werden. Er erörtert auch, wie sie sich im Laufe der Geschichte auf die menschliche Erfahrung von Leid ausgewirkt haben.

Den började som en konferensdag till LarsOlov Erikssons ära, när han efter en lång tjänstgöring slutade som lektor i gamla testamentets exegetik vid Johannelunds teologiska högskola. Därför finns också några internationella forskarbidrag med, men de flesta är svenska. De som har huvudansvar för gamla testamentet vid universitet och högskolor i Sverige fick en fråga om de vill bidra och de flesta svarade ja. Därför presenteras här svensk bibelforskning i dag, begränsat till gamla testamentet. Flera bidrag känner vi igen som traditionella forskningsämnen inom gamla testamentet, analyser av enskilda texter och fördjupningar i enskilda ämnen. Men det finns också mycket nytt. Nya metodiska grepp, hermeneutiska diskussioner, berättelseanalyser, receptionshis­ toriska framställningar, kulturrelaterade undersökningar m.m. till och med en presentation av kung David i filmens värld och läsningar av Tomas Tranströmers dikter.
