Advances in Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis of Power Plant Machinery examines the latest techniques for diagnosing and monitoring electrical machines in power plants. Power plant electrical machinery requires proactive maintenance to prevent failures, reduce downtime, and ensure safety. Emerging advanced and artificial intelligence technologies can help improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency in this regard.Chapters review fault detection, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis, acoustic emission, electrical signature analysis, and monitoring of boilers, turbines, and generators. Additionally, the application of new and innovative technologies such as data acquisition, signal processing, AI diagnostics, digital twins, and machine learning to fault detection and boosting plant efficiency are examined. Case studies are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of these technologies in a variety of power plants, including thermal and hydro plants. This book is valuable to professionals, researchers, students, and educators interested in developing skills for maintaining optimal performance and safety in power plants.Demonstrates emerging methodologies and technologies for early fault detection and proactive maintenance in power plant electrical systemsIncludes practical case studies on tools for enhancing troubleshooting skills and improving equipment reliabilityExamines innovative diagnostic techniques incorporating A.I. and machine learning
