The past twenty years have witnessed a renewal of interest in feminist activism on both sides of the Atlantic. In part this has been a response to neoliberal and neoconservative attacks, both implicit and explicit, on the gains made by feminists during the 1960s and 70s. This study adds a comparative dimension to the ongoing analysis of feminism and feminist activism by mapping, analysing and theorising third wave feminisms in the US and Britain. A key addition to Gender and Politics literature, it explores third wave feminisms by situating them within a specific political context, neoliberalism, and in relation to feminist theories of intersectionality, both of which present radical opportunities and practical challenges for feminism and the feminist movement. Elizabeth Evans is Lecturer in Politics at the University of Bristol. Her research focuses on gender and politics, including engagement with formal processes and political activism. She has published widely on aspects of feminism, gender and politics, and her previous book, Gender and the Liberal Democrats, was published in 2011.

This small collection of some 400 pages is a complementary collection supporting the 8-volume collection US Records on Saudi Affairs 1945-1960. This volume presents facsimile originals of state correspondence at the highest level - between four US Presidents: Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy, and King Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia - during the key developmental phase in the post-war relationship between the two nations, 1941-1963. While a great deal of the US State Department papers are either withheld or heavily censored, what is left remains quite fascinating as these Heads of State are revealed through their own words.

Archive Editions and University Publications of America in a collaborative venture present a collection of Confidential US Government Records on Saudi Arabia. These documents, primarily researched from State Department Central Files and the Records of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, are essential to the study of the development of the US-Saudi political relationship in the post-war and Cold War period. The documents help illustrate the development of foreign and military policy in Saudi Arabia in the turbulent early days of the Cold War, and the evolution of Saudi military power. In particular this work permits a close 'ground-level' assessment of the strategies and philosophies adopted by the American and Saudi alliance.
