The Coast Guard is uniquely positioned as the only military service capable of conducting maritime law enforcement operations. Under its authorities, the Coast Guard is actively engaged in missions related to drug interdiction, migrant interdiction, and the protection of natural resources from harmful activities such as IUU fishing.
