Die Dramenliteratur über den Atomkrieg hat zwischen 1945 und 1975 mehrere Theater- und Rundfunkproduktionen hervorgebracht, die größtenteils vergessen sind. Der Band bietet eine kulturhistorische und thematische Bestandsaufnahme dieser kaum erforschten Literatur und durchleuchtet sie aus gattungsspezifischer Perspektive. Zum ersten Mal wird damit die Atomdramatik in ihren Hauptmotiven und Thematiken umfassend dokumentiert. Der literatur- und gattungsgeschichtlichen Übersicht folgen die Interpretationen der einzelnen Texte, die durch bibliographische Hinweise auf die Presserezeption und auf weiterführende Literatur ergänzt sind. Ein umfangreicher Anhang mit Bibliographien und Registern ermöglicht den schnellen Zugriff auf Personen, Stücke und Themen.The dramatic literature on the subject of the nuclear war produced between 1945 and 1975 many plays in theatre and in radio, most of which have been forgotten. The book attempts to provide a cultural-historical and thematic inventory of this fascinating, and largely under-researched genre, and to investigate it from a genre-specific perspective. For the first time, the nuclear drama is extensively documented in terms of its structure and its main motifs and themes. The historical and literary overview of the genre is followed by the interpretations of the texts, supplemented by bibliographical references to the press reception and to further literature. An extensive appendix with bibliographies and lists allows a quick access to people, plays and themes.

In letzter Zeit haben Ferne und Nähe mit den ihnen verwandten semantischen Konzepten (z.B. Weite, Fremdheit, Entfernung, Fernweh, Aus- und Entgrenzung, Andersheit, Heimweh, Nostalgie, Grenze, Beschränkung gegenüber Verbundenheit, Vertrautheit, Nachbarschaft, Verwandtschaft, Sympathie, Empathie) zunehmend an Bedeutung und Aktualität gewonnen – und dies nicht zuletzt auch aufgrund der durch die Corona-Pandemie weltweit ausgelösten Krise. Im vorliegenden Band wurden einschlägige Beiträge italienischer und deutscher Literatur- und Sprachwissenschaftler:innen mit dem Ziel zusammengestellt, ein neues Kompendium zu den literarischen und sprachlichen Ausdrucksformen der Empathie und Distanz, zu den Ein- und Ausschlussverfahren in Literatur und Sprache, zur Treue oder Verfremdung in Literatur, Übersetzung und Sprachdidaktik sowie zu den Versprachlichungs- und Literarisierungsformen von Nähe und Distanz bereitzustellen.Recently, distance and proximity with their related semantic concepts (e.g. expanse, strangeness, distance, nostalgia, exclusion and inclusion, dissolution of boundaries, otherness, homesickness, longing, border, restriction versus connectedness, familiarity, neighbourhood, kinship, sympathy, empathy) have gained increasing importance and topicality – and this not least because of the crisis triggered by the Corona pandemic worldwide. In the present volume, relevant contributions by Italian and German literary and linguistic scholars have been compiled with the aim of providing a new compendium on the literary and linguistic expressions of empathy and distance, on inclusion and exclusion procedures in literature and language, on fidelity or alienation in literature, translation and language didactics, as well as on the expression of distance and proximity in linguistic and literary forms.
