Gender, Language and New Literacy presents cross-cultural research on gender as it is lexically and socially categorized in electronic media. For the purposes of the study, the authors have compiled a corpus of gender terms from online thesauruses to show how new technologies interact with gender categorizations in different languages, and how these are related to their respective culture and society. Im Februar 2006 fand in Rom die zweite Tagung Deutsche Sprachwissenschaft in Italien statt. Im Rahmen dieser Tagung trafen sich mehrere Arbeitsgruppen; zwei davon legen hier ihre Ergebnisse vor. Im ersten Teil sind Beiträge zur Arbeitsgruppe Gesprochene Sprache (Leitung: Eva-Maria Thüne) versammelt. Sie betreffen neben der Gesprochene-Sprache-Forschung auch die Didaktik der gesprochenen Sprache aus der Perspektive der Auslandsgermanistik, die Interaktion im universitären DaF-Unterricht sowie Grenzbereiche von Schriftlichkeit und Mündlichkeit. Der zweite Teil enthält die Resultate der Arbeitsgruppe Partikeln (Leitung: Franca Ortu), wobei das Thema im weitesten Sinn zu verstehen ist. Von verschiedenen Ansätzen ausgehend, werden anhand authentischer Korpora und meist in kontrastiver Sicht Aspekte der Semantik sowie der Prosodie und Syntax dieser oft polyfunktionalen Wortkategorie untersucht.
