Muedini bases his analysis on interviews taken with a number of NGO leaders and activists of leading LGBTI organisations in the region, including Lambda Istanbul, Kaos GL, Pembe Hayat, Social Policies, Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Studies Association (SPoD), and Families of LGBT's in Istanbul (LİSTAG). This book focuses on all issues related to the human right of child primary education. It addresses issues of access to education, the benefits of schooling, primary education and human rights law, the role of states and NGOs towards improving enrolment rates, as well as policy recommendations.

Dr. Fait Muedini is the Frances Shera Fessler Professor, and Director of International Studies at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. His poetry has been published in Anchor Magazine, Allegro Poetry Magazine and Blackmail Press. He has also published in outlets such as Foreign Affairs and Palgrave Macmillan. His most recent book is LGBTI Rights in Turkey: Sexualities and the State in the Middle East (Cambridge University Press). His poetry explores themes of Sufism, unity, beauty, and the oneness of reality.
