Acercandonos a las decadas centrales del siglo veintiuno este libro se presenta como un fascinante conjunto de ideas sobre el debate filosofico de la mejora de los seres humanos. Reune a algunas de las principales figuras del debate britanico y a interesantes colaboradores del ambito hispanohablante. Los articulos de este volumen no tienen nada que ver con aquellos del debate de los anos noventa. Estos no se limitan a senalar posibilidades cientificas. No tratan la ciencia como una mera fuente de ideas para provocadores experimentos mentales sobre la insercion de genes de Michael Jordan en embriones; por el contrario, estan vinculados seriamente con la ciencia. En este volumen encontraran reflexiones meditadas sobre el uso de la oxitocina, las aplicaciones de CRISPR, el uso del neurofeedback para la mejora moral y la posible aplicacion de la inteligencia artificial a la toma de decisiones morales. El hecho de que este volumen se interese tanto por los detalles cientificos le otorga una relevancia para el futuro del debate sobre la mejora que estaba ausente en las discusiones de los anos noventa. Supongo que esta diferencia permitira a estos articulos aportar ese avance filosofico al que no podian aspirar los debates anteriores.
