Si l’on me demande quelle est la ligne de l’Agenda de la pensée contemporaine, je répondrai que la vocation de notre revue est de faire apparaître la qualité du travail intellectuel et de la signaler de façon prescriptive à l’attention. De la façon la plus ouverte, la moins cadrée, la moins coincée (et d’abord par la place), la plus exploratrice — mais bien sûr dans les limites de nos compétences. Nous traversons les livres de pensée qui paraissent non pas tant pour en rendre compte que pour en développer les enjeux et les questions et les faire participer au débat contemporain (dont on sait qu’il a peu à voir avec les fameux « débats de société » tels qu’ils sont organisés) ; et, si nous traitons principalement de livres, c’est que nous considérons que les livres sont les chantiers où se trame et se communique le travail discret, ardu, têtu, solitaire et solidaire à la fois, de la pensée.
