Francois Venter het aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosch in bedryfsliekunde en krygskunde gestudeer. Daarna het hy ondermeer opleiding aangebied gedurende die post-1994 transformasieprogram en n nistydskrif, Salut, bestuur. Nadat hy die weermag verlaat het, het hy n aantal jare in die bankwese deurgebring. Tans is hy deel van n klein span konsultante wat spesialiseer in veranderingsbestuur en leertegnologie. In 1998 is van sy verse in Stroom-op/Up the Creek opgeneem. Hy het ook gedigte in Engels gepubliseer onder andere met Noble House in Colours of the Heart, 2004.
