Gearoid Denvir – författare

This volume contains 20 of the best short stories written in Irish in the last century, edited by Gearóid Denvir, lecturer in Modern Irish in NUIG, and Aisling Ní Dhonnchadha, lecturer in Modern Irish in NUI Maynooth.

Duanaire an Chéid contains poems written between 1900 and 2000, selected by Gearóid Denvir. Although it contains many of the best-known Irish-language poets, there are also poems by lesser known writers who were also considered to have written work that will stand the test of time.

October 1999 saw the death of the poet Learaí Phádraic Learaí Ó Fínneadha, from an Lochán Beag in Cois Fharraige originally, but who had moved closer to Galway city, to Bearna, when he married.  Now, more than ten years on, this book, Sé an Saol an Máistir: Filíocht Learaí Phádraic Learaí Uí Fhínneadha, edited by Gearóid Denvir, encompasses Learaí''s entire poetic work.
