In about three weeks he wrote down the score. In 1742, the Messiah was premiered with great success as a charity concert for several charities in Dublin. George Frideric Handel's most famous work, The Messiah in English. Comprises 11 versions, 1742-1754 (main text 1752) with keyboard reduction by Kurt Soldan and revised by Donald Burrows. The work is divided into three sections based on biblical texts. The first section deals with Old Testament prophecies of the birth of Christ, the second deals with the life of Jesus and the third part deals with redemption and resurrection.

Handel wrote the German arias at a time when he was mainly composing Italian operas for the Kings Theatre in London. The arias focus on the contemplation of the beauties of nature and the praise of God. Handel took the texts from the collection Earthly Pleasures in God by the Hamburg writer Barthold Heinrich Brockes.

Händel schrieb die Deutschen Arien zu einer Zeit, als er hauptsächlich italienische Opern für das Kings Theatre in london komponierte. Die Arien haben die Betrachtung der Naturschönheiten und die Lobpreisung Gottes zum Inhalt. Die Texte entnahm Händel der Sammlung Irdisches Vergnügen in Gott des Hamburger Schriftstellers Barthold Heinrich Brockes.
