Theologische Bibliothek Töpelmann is dedicated to scholarship in systematic theology and philosophy of religion. The series is open to all scholarly fields that address any aspect of systematic theology in a broad sense. This includes research on questions of dogmatics, ethics, history of theology in all epochs, philosophical approaches to theology and religion as well as projects that combine biblical studies with theological issues. The name of the series recalls the heritage of the influential publisher Alfred Töpelmann (1867-1954).

Max Weber hat um 1900 das Verhältnis von Religion und Wirtschaft auf eine klassische Weise zur Sprache gebracht und religiöse Wurzeln des modernen Kapitalismus identifiziert. Das erfolgte in einer historisierenden Perspektive. Die durch Weber angestoßene Fragestellung wird im ersten Teil des Buches analysiert, wobei sie sowohl ausgeweitet und neu justiert als auch selbst nochmals kritisch eingeordnet wird. Unter den Bedingungen der Moderne ist eine religiöse Begründung wirtschaftlichen Handelns dann freilich enorm unter Druck geraten. Ist es überhaupt noch möglich, von einem Einfluss religiöser Ideen auf wirtschaftliche Prozesse zu sprechen? Oder verbirgt sich dahinter die Sehnsucht nach einer kulturellen Prägekraft des Christentums? Und hat Weber diese Sehnsucht sogar befeuert? Oder ist es nicht vielmehr so, dass die Wirtschaft auf die Religion Einfluss hat? Diese Fragen anzugehen, bedarf der Fokussierung auch der Eigengesetzlichkeiten und -dynamiken beider Teilsysteme der soziokulturellen Wirklichkeit. Erst von dort her können Möglichkeiten und Grenzen bestimmt werden, wie sie miteinander in Beziehung gesetzt werden können. Dies in exemplarischen Studien zu untersuchen, ist das Ziel des zweiten, systematischen Teils.

This book focuses on spatial planning – an important determinantof energy saving and renewable energy supply.
