Today, it may seem like the college admissions process has become more inflated and difficult to navigate than ever before. Many parents have become vocal about the standardized testing and college preparation that begins as early as elementary school. In fact, some families hire advisors to help their children chart a path to the most prestigious schools when they are barely teenagers. This text examines the historical college admissions process and where we are today through the thoughtful analysis of researchers, politicians, officials, and ordinary people in order to show students all sides of this often high-stress topic.

Many Westerners are unaware of the diversity of language and art across the Middle East. Arabic dialects differ based on region and country, and many other Semitic and non-Semitic languages are spoken across the Middle East. Art and technology also develop based on distinct cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic influences. In 2013, over twenty-thousand people came to participate in the Boston Marathon, held every year on Patriots'' Day. Instead, they became victims and witnesses of a devastating attack that left 3 dead, 260 wounded, and shut down the entire city. Students will learn about the history of the marathon and the bombing, the response to the attack, the manhunt for the bombers, and the impact of the bombing on American society. A glossary, timeline, and further reading lists are included to aid students.

Readers will learn about the different identities associated with bisexuality, the history of attraction to multiple genders, and the prejudice bisexual people face from both the LGBTQ+ community and society at large. Issues surrounding coming out of the closet, biphobia, bisexual representation and misrepresentation in the media, and heterosexual privilege will be addressed in a straightforward and sensitive manner.
