Tim LaHaye created the Left Behind Series, which has become one of the most popular fiction series of all time. Those novels, with more that 50 million copies sold, presented a unique combination of suspense and substance drawn from his lifelong study of Biblical prophecy. Now Tim LaHaye has created a new series that begins with Babylon Rising. The novels in this new series are even faster-paced thrillers based on prophecies that are not covered in the Left Behind books and that have great relevance to the events of today. Babylon Rising introduces a terrific new hero for our time. Michael Murphy is a scholar of Biblical prophecy, but not the sedate and tweedy kind. Murphy is a field archaeologist who defies danger to fearlessly hunt down and authenticate ancient artifacts from Biblical times. His latest discovery is his most amazing—but it will send him hurtling from a life of excavation and revelations to a confrontation with the forces of the greatest evil. For the latest secret uncovered by Michael Murphy accelerates the countdown to the time of the end for all mankind. From the Hardcover edition.

Greg Dinallo, the heralded author of Rockets'' Red Glare and Purpose of Evasion, has written his most chilling and disturbing thriller yet: A novel of intrigue that explores the emotionally charged issue of Vietnam War MIAs. Final Answers is provocative, authentic, and powerful fictionAmong the 58,176 names etched on the long black wall of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC, are names of those who never came home—of MIAs whose families are still waiting for final answers.During a business trip to Washington, a veteran, now a statistics expert, has an experience at the Memorial that will shatter his carefully constructed life with the impact of a Claymore mine. Touching the names carved in the wall, he finds one all too familiar: his own. A. Calvert Morgan understands cold, hard numbers. But how did his name get on the wall? Morgan''s wife, Nancy, does some research for him that leads him to Kate Ackerman. Kate''s husband had been listed as missing in action after being shot down in Laos twenty years earlier; during those years, she has joined the National League of Families and become a dedicated MIA activist. At first, Morgan believes that he is part of a bizarre military snafu—a data entry error made in the field. But when Kate guides him to the Army''s Central Identification Lab in Hawaii, he begins to realize that his "death" was not an accident. In the war zone, another man took his name and serial number for his own —and then was killed. Morgan finds out that his impersonator was no ordinary GI He was, in fact, a key player in a macabre conspiracy that reaches back to the poppy fields of Laos.Morgan has set off a deadly alarm; the drug lord is still operating and has targeted him for elimination. Coming after Morgan—a man more comfortable with a computer than a handgun—the hit man commits a murder so brutal that Morgan''s life is turned into a raging fight for survival. From the San Francisco mortuary that received the bodies of American servicemen during the war to Southeast Asia in the ''90s, Morgan is venturing into ever more violent territory. And he is not alone. Kate Ackerman has joined him on a trip to Thailand—hopeful that her husband is still alive, his fate possibly linked to those who have targeted Morgan for death.Amid Bangkok''s steamy nightclubs and brackish, twisting canals, their quest pushes them into the jungle, across the Mekong River into Laos, where they move toward a brutal final answer to the mystery of Vietnam MIAs . . .Electrifying and filled with suspense, Final Answers confirms Greg Dinallo''s reputation as a novelist who poses daring questions, takes extraordinary risks, and delivers searing excitement from first page to last.

This novel from “a suspense pro” is part World War II thriller and part modern-day mystery (Chicago Tribune). A vintage suitcase is pulled from the trash by a young New York advertising executive brainstorming a campaign on her way to work. The account is Steinbach Luggage, the German answer to Louis Vuitton and Hermes. There is only one problem with the vintage bag—like Steinbach’s CEO, it is a Holocaust survivor, as evidenced by the name and other personal data painted on it. The suitcase is hallowed memorabilia, and no one dares open it until it is determined if the owner is still alive. The Holocaust survivor turns out to be an eighty-nine-year-old member of New York’s Jewish aristocracy, a prominent philanthropist and surgeon. When he gives his consent, the documents inside the suitcase pique the interest of a New York Times reporter—whose investigation begins to unravel a devastating secret that has been locked away since the day Dachau was liberated. From an author whose work has been praised by the New York Times for “sharp insight into character,” The German Suitcase is a unique thriller focusing on the Nazi doctors who were conscripted by the Secret Service and given the task of carrying out Hitler’s Final Solution, delving deeply into questions that have been asked ever since the war ended. What is a war crime? What is guilt? How is justice best served? It is a novel that questions the very nature of identity, and ultimately asks if a lifetime of good deeds can make up for past acts of evil.

Greg Dinallo''s blockbuster Rockets'' Red Glare earned rave reviews for its ingenious use of the Cuban Missile Crisis and detailed knowledge of current military technology. Now, with Purpose of Evasion, Dinallo proves he''s a master of the techno-thriller genre. Seven Americans languish in captivity somewhere in the Middle East. Soon they will begin to die. In desperation, CIA Director Bill Kiley authorizes the shadowy air force colonel Richard Larkin to carry out a shocking plan: Under the cover of a punitive air raid on Libya, Larkin will deliver two highly sophisticated F-111 bombers to Libyan dictator Muammar el-Qaddafi. The reason? Qaddafi claims that he knows where the hostages are and that he can deliver them safely into American hands. The catch? Larkin must kill two American pilots to make the plan work.In Beirut, a brilliant and handsome Saudi named Saddam Moncrieff, secretly working for the CIA, arranges a meeting with an old lover. She is Katifa, passionate, flawlessly beautiful, and completely committed to the vicious Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal, who had hidden the hostages somewhere in the Middle East. For the sake of the hostages, Moncrieff must somehow turn Katifa against her master. As Larkin''s cynical plot is executed, he makes one crucial mistake: Major Walter Shepherd, one of the American pilots marked for death, escapes. As long as Shepherd lives, the operation can be exposed. Kiley and Larkin make a decision: Shepherd must be found—and killed. A team of assassins is dispatched to locate and terminate the fiercely independent air force pilot.Shepherd sets out on a heart-stopping journey to save his honor and his life—unaware that, at the very same moment, a crack navy SEAL team has been sent on a mission to rescue the hostages. The tension mounts to unbearable levels as Nidal''s deadline for killing the hostages draws near, and Shepherd finds himself caught in the violent madness that is the Middle East.Purpose of Evasion is a stunning triumph, an eerily plausible "what if?" techno-thriller set in a world where deception is a way of life and death haunts every moment.

When onetime dissident journalist Nikolai Katkov is tipped off to the murder of a highly placed government official, he doesn’t count on the trail twisting into the lurid world of Moscow mafia casino-owner Arkady Barkhin. After Katkov’s relentless digging almost gets him gunned down, he receives an unexpected appeal for help from the striking Gabby Scotto, a US Treasury special agent. She has been tracking laundered money flowing out of the US—an investigation that has led to Barkhin’s casino and a similar dead end. But then Katkov obtains a sensitive government document that could shatter Russia’s fragile and newly free economy—and join Scotto in Washington to pick up the trail. Katkov’s tenaciousness in pursuit of a story has been honed by decades of KGB harassment, and his survival instincts—notwithstanding a penchant for vodka and American cigarettes—by a few hard years in the Gulag. He senses a kindred spirit in the vivacious Broolynite whose bravado is matched by her investigative savvy—and who leaps at the chance to lead some down-and-dirty field work. Scotto has doubts about sharing privileged information with a journalist, but they are squelched when Katkov makes a critical discovery about a shipping container heading south on I-95—one that they suspect is filled with $2 billion badly in need of laundering. As Katkov and Scotto’s pursuit races from freeways to freight cars, from Baltimore to Miami, they are shadowed by American entrepreneur Michael Rubineau, a man intent upon seeing the container safely to its ultimate destination. A frequent VIP guest at Arkady Barkhin’s Moscow nightclub, Rubineau has devised a scheme of stunning brilliance and unprecedented greed and venality. But as Scotto prepares to take him down, and Katkov composes his front-page headlines, they’re forced into a gambit of extreme peril. Heading into the last outpost of communism, Katkov is about to discover that love of country and lust for money can crumble even the fiercest loyalties . . .
