HAAs are a group of organic disinfection by-products regulated under the 'Stage 1 Disinfectants and Disinfection By-Products Rule'. The objectives of the proposed research were: to study the mechanisms of haloacetic acid (HAA) removal; to evaluate the effects of water temperature; and to explore techniques to accelerate bioactivity development. .

In recent decades, material development in response to a call for more durable infrastructures has led to many exciting advancements. Fiber reinforced composite designs, with very unique properties, are now being explored in many infrastructural applications.
