In ihrer Dissertation untersucht Helga Blocksdorf „seismische Stellen“ im Entwurfsprozess, das heißt kritische Punkte, an denen sich architektonische Ideen und technische Anforderungen überlagern und scheinbar unlösbare Probleme entstehen. Die Arbeit entwickelt eine Entwurfsmethode, die diese Spannungsfelder gezielt aufspürt und auslotet. Durch die Analyse ausgewählter Präzisionsbauten werden Strategien des konstruktiven Entwerfens destilliert – von harmonischem Fügen bis hin zum konstruktiven Experiment. Das bewusste Heraufbeschwören dieser „Bruchstellen” zwischen Entwurfsidee und baulicher Realität kann zu architektonischen Lösungen führen, die über sich hinausweisen. Die Methode birgt ein hohes Scheitern, eröffnet aber auch ein großes architektonisches Potenzial.
