This Time Travel TimeMachine Vol 2 is from 1960 to 1964 and continues a visual time-travel throughthe golden age of air travel, using rare Kodachrome slides taken by everydaytravellers during the 1960s, when flying was new, glamorous, and reserved forthe few. Collected over more than 30 years, these spontaneous images preservelost airlines, aircraft, airports, and onboard experiences that can never berecreated and are now almost forgotten. This Volume 2 from 1960-1964 picks where the now sold-out Volume 1 (1940s and 1950s) left off, as wecontinue our time travel look back at the formative and early days of airtravel. The author spent the past thirty plus years sourcing random travellerKodachrome slides depicting air travel when it was new and exciting, the domainof the affluent, when most people on the planet had not yet travelled by air. These were random colour slides taken by people whilst documenting theirholidays, or meeting relatives at the airport, sometimes whilst marking aspecial travel occasion. The images presented in these books were taken by airtravellers who carried personal 35mm SLR cameras loaded with high quality 35mmcolour Kodachrome slide film, and they snapped spontaneous images during allaspects of their air travel journeys in the 1960s. By the 2020s, these oldslides were obsolete. Most people under the age of 35 will have no idea what aKodachrome slide is. These old slides are now largely buried deep in long lostand long forgotten family slide collections around the world, and in many casessuch Kodachrome slide images are simply discarded to the sands of time asestates are liquidated when older family members passed on. The author made oneof his life callings to seek out, preserve and celebrate these amazing travelsKodachromes in these unique books. It takes ages to find these old slides, andno amount of money or budget can create such images to quickly produce anotherone of these books in quick order. It is impossible. This volume No 2 featuresall colour images taken all around the world from airport observation decks, inside airport terminal buildings, boarding and deplaning airliners, on boardshowing the passenger cabins and cabin service and travel comforts of the day, wing views of airliners that were retired half a century ago, featuring theiconic airline branding and logos of many of the now defunct great airlines, that for most people are long forgotten. It did not make sense to squeeze all these fabulous 1960sKodachrome travel images into one book, to do them all justice. It was a muchbetter idea to present the decade of the 1960s across 2 volumes, which allowedfor many images to be full page bleed. Reader comments from Volume 1 frequentlyexpressed the joy and time spent examining the background details of theamazing images. Therefore, by presenting the images as large as possible inthese two volumes of 1960 – 1964 and 1965 - 1970, readers can soak up thedetails in all their glorious splendour. Page after page, readers will relivetheir wonderful travel memories from more than half a century ago. This uniquebook series will transport the reader back in time like no other book everpublished in the annals of aviation history. Do not delay your purchase as thisis a very limited production publication. Once it is sold out, it will be soldout forever.
