The drug addicted mother gave birth to the future killer in a back alley on skid row. Malo’s voice was husky as he spoke to the killer in the doorway, “I’m here, friend.”The man was very fast, as he spun towards the sound of Malo’s voice, but Malo didn’t give him a chance to complete the turn. The roar of his gun was deafening in the small room as Malo placed two shots, chest high, into his body. The man’s body edged backward as he was rocked back on his heels, and then rebounded to the tips of his toes. His body did a slow pirouette, falling face down on the floor. He was dead before he completed the fall.This was one killing too many for the Chicago Police who ordered Malo to take a long vacation or they would take away his license. Malo’s new client hired him to purchase a valuable coin in Cardiff, California where he encounters deception, intrigue, murder and a professional hit man.

A group of figures, cloaked in long black robes, were standing in a circle softly chanting a name. She could hear them repeating, “Selina, Selina, Selina,” over and over again. Her mind reeled with disbelief as she leaned against the barn door to steady herself.She murmured to herself, “This can’t be real, it’s only a dream. I must be dreaming.”As she stood leaning slightly against the barn door, she was unaware of a cloaked figure who had watched, in the dim moonlight, as she had approached the barn. As she stared dumbstruck with terror at the figures in the barn, the shadow moved from its position in the darkness, silently creeping up from behind her, raising a large club. The specter swung the club downward with tremendous force, crushing her skull. Lois Aldridge didn’t hear the sound as the bludgeon crunched against the back of her head. She had joined her husband in death.

He was entombed in the small damp cave. The opening had been sealed by the angry townspeople. Then he heard the hammering commence. He briefly wondered why they were hammering on the mountainside. He had no way of knowing the stonemason was chiseling and inscription above the cave-an inscription which read “Beware Kolis.” He prayed to his Father to release him from his entombment, but his Fathers didn’t answer until Kolis was frantic. Then his Fathers’ cold voice echoed in the chamber, “You have failed me Kolis. You allowed the young girl to live. You must never again forget my teachings. Over the next many years I will visit you many times. And you will remember all which I have taught you, for the time, when I will set you free again. Do not fail me again Kolis.” Thus begins the story of Kolis and his destructive efforts teaching evil to his followers who were recruited from the maladjusted of society.

For Jack Nelson’s birthday his parents decided he needed to become worldlier than spending his life in a fifteen mile area. They insisted he travel from the Midwest to California to see the ocean. Jack’s father stressed to him he could consider himself very successful if he made the trip without people remembering his name. The first time he was asked his name on his trip he remembered his father’s statement. He used the alias Cowboy. He never imagined, under this alias, he would become famous throughout the west as a gunfighter. When he saved an Indian boy from drowning, the Indian Nation considered him as a white medicine man sent by the Great Spirit. One month later he found the same girl in shock in the rain caressing her horse that had broken its leg. His bitter wife sent two gun fighters to kill him before coming to see him. Many months later he assisted in the capture of four young boys who had rustled cattle. Later he was with the group who arrested two bank robbers. There are many other side stories, including a gold mine, and falling in love.
