En las últimas décadas, la tendencia internacional de las políticas educativas estuvo orientada a generar mejores condiciones para garantizar el derecho a la educación de los sectores sociales más afectados por las desigualdades sociales y educativas. La ampliación de la obligatoriedad de la educación secundaria colocó a las escuelas en situación de poner en acción (enacted) múltiples y diversas iniciativas que en formato de planes, programas y proyectos poblaron el cotidiano escolar e introdujeron lógicas, prácticas y efectos cuyo alcance y profundidad buscamos indagar en este libro. En la primera parte del libro, se ponen en diálogo un conjunto de herramientas teórico-metodológicas y resultados de la producción intelectual de reconocidos investigadores, como referenciales interpretativos de las políticas educativas y sus efectos en el quehacer de las instituciones escolares y de los sujetos que las habitan. En la segunda parte, se presentan las producciones del Grupo de Investigación y Estudios de Política Educativa (GiEPE), Sub-proyecto I (Educación Secundaria), (CIFFYH-UNC), conformado por becarios CONICET (Doctorado y Posdoctorado), investigadores de otras instituciones y colegas de Brasil que realizaron sus estancias doctorales y posdoctorales estudiando las políticas educativas cuando llegan a las escuelas.
